Where perfectionism ends and honesty begins.

Tembral is a simple LGBTQIA+ community app where you practice honesty, out loud, with others who are practicing too.

No one to impress. No perfect words.

Here, you stop holding everything in and start letting it out.

One facilitator, audio only. You take a seat, you say what is honest, or you say nothing. Then the room closes and nothing is kept.

Our community has so many dating and hookup apps

Tembral is designed differently.

Sharing circles.

Audio only. Nobody here to impress, so you can say the part you hide.

Your body learns.

We brace before the truth. Say it out loud, and brace a little less.

Partial mirrors.

The story you think is only yours is not. Someone else holds a piece.

Why I built this

Frank William · 75 seconds, in my own voice

Nothing plays until you ask.

“I created Tembral because our community deserves an app where we can connect on an emotional level, not just physically or erotically. We have plenty of those already. I’ve been fortunate enough to have almost two years of therapy, but it wasn’t until this past year I had the experience of group therapy. And that’s when I realized there’s something powerful that happens when you share your truth in front of others.

Not just writing it in your journal, not just telling it to your therapist one-on-one, but actually saying it out loud.

Before you speak, your body is bracing because it’s so uncomfortable to say the truth out loud. But over time, your body realizes that it’s not dangerous, you’re not at risk, you’re in a safe space, the truth becomes easier to say out loud. And the other part that I love about this is as you’re sharing your story, the story that you think is so unique to you and only you, I guarantee you there’s at least one or two, three people in that circle that can identify with a part of your story.

And the same thing happens when you’re listening to them share their story. You see a part of yourself.”

For the nights when you’ve told everyone you are ‘fine’.

Other people practising honesty are in the room with you. Audio only. They hear your voice and know your first name. There is no video and there are no photo albums.

No. No recording, no transcript, no summary. What is said in the room stays in the room.
